Friends of Scouting
Troop 1577 Leaders & Parents -
Friends of Scouting conducted their annual Friends of Scouting presentation during our meeting on March 15th. Friends of Scouting is the one time each year when families are asked to make a financial investment to support the National Capital Area Council and local Scouting programs.

As a member of Troop 1577, you are asked to pay an annual
registration fee, which is split directly for national BSA and
Troop membership dues. However, Friends of Scouting
dollars go directly toward impacting local youth and Scouting
programs. It helps to support local “behind the scenes”
expenses that our National Capital Area Council incurs, such
as; operating costs for our three camp properties (Goshen
Scout Reservation, Camp William B. Snyder, and Camp
Howard M. Wall), programs and activities like Scouting for
Food, adult leader trainings, adult leader recognition, and
youth support committees, and resources for unit, district,
and council functions, like providing camperships for Scouts
who are unable to afford the experience, daily operations of the Marriott Scout Service Center, maintaining membership records, providing Insurance, and much more.

Please consider making a donation to support scouting in your community.
