The Troop will be camping this weekend and the Scouts will be working on Merit Badges. There will not be a formal Webelos program. Rather, this is an opportunity to come see the Troop in action. All Webelos I & II are welcome to come out!

Our Scouts have planned an interactive evening where Webelos can visit different stations to experience and ask questions about all of the cool things Scouts get to do. Backpacking, canoeing, rock climbing, spelunking, welding, automotive repair, cooking, bicycling camping, and high adventure trips to name a few. All Webelos I & II are welcome to join us!

Troop 1577 prides itself on being a youth-run, patrol-based, outing-focused, skills-oriented Troop. Its goal is to develop young men with strong values and practiced leadership skills. Scouts and crew elect their own leaders, who plan and execute activities--including meetings and outings--under adult leader supervision. This is a very important part of learning essential leadership skills. The program allows scouts to fail at times and to learn from these failures. The goal is to help the young men to become tomorrow's leaders. The Troop is also focused on having fun! This is accomplished by encouraging scouts who are leaders to think outside the box and to come up with interesting things to do -- whether it is exploring caves, riding rapids in canoes, backpacking, or high adventure activities.

The Troop is complimented by a Venture Crew for young men and young women aged 14 and above. Crew 1577 is focused on challenge, outdoor experiences, and high school-age level activities.

Meetings are on Monday evenings from 7:15 to 8:30pm at our Chartered Organization:
Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Dranesville Road, Herndon, VA 20170

Boys aged 10+ interested in the Troop and boys and girls aged 14+ interested in the Crew and their parents are always welcome to come visit and learn about Troop and Crew 1577.
