Cinnamon Fern - Osmunda cinnamomea


Fern, Clump forming.  Is a bold rhizomatous fern with a striking vase shaped habit.  Plants have a substantial woody crown that produces dark wiry fibrous roots.   Grows best in dappled to light shade with rick consistently moist or wet soil.  Unpalatable to deer and other herbivores

    The fuzz that covers the young FIDDLEHEADS of the cinnamon fern is a favorite nesting material for birds.
